Cosmetic Laser
River Med Spa has four laser wavelengths, each providing specific functionality and benefit: Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet) 1064 nm eliminates vascular lesions including spider veins, cherry angiomas, rosacea, and rhinophyma (whiskey nose). 810 Diode Laser is an optimal laser for hair removal. Its large spot size and ability to provide 10 pulses per second make short order of large treatment areas. Q-Switched YAG/KTP (1064nm/532nm) microsecond laser pulverises a wide range of tattoo pigments. Er:YAG (erbium yag) – targets water superficially resulting in a superficial ablation. The result is beautiful new skin, with less burn and faster healing than traditional CO2 lasers.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

Neurotoxins
River Med SPa offers Botox, Xeomin and Dysport. Each of the four US FDA-approved cosmetic neurotoxins inhibits the action of nerves that stimulate the muscle; effectively turning off the nerves’ signal for muscle contraction. While muscles typically move bones (i.e. the legs, arms & jaw) in the face there are many muscles that function to move soft tissue such as the forehead, lips, and eyes. With time the force applied to these tissues will cause rhytids (wrinkles). Cosmetic Neurotoxins can (1) dramatically reduce rhytids, (2) can be used to elevate the eyebrows, improve smiles & smooth the neck, and (3) be effective for the management of functional medical problems.
Collagen Stimulators
River Med SPa offers both FDA approved collagen Stimulators: Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is designed to restore volume to your skin. It is a collagen stimulator, not a facial filler. Poly-L-lactic acid is a biocompatible synthetic variation of lactic acid that is more durable than natural lactic acid and stimulates natural metabolic processes to produce collagen. Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxyapatite gel microspheres which provides an immediate filler contouring effect and an ensuing collagen & elastin stimulating effect. It is both a facial filler AND collagen stimulator. Using collagen stimulators we are able to increase collagen production to improve the contour, volume and firmness to areas that have demonstrated aging, creating a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Typically, a series of treatments may be required to provide sensational results.
Aesthetic Facials
Facials are an excellent adjunct to our other treatments, or as a standalone rejuvenating therapy. Through a process of cleansing, exfoliating, and nourishing the skin, aesthetic facials can produce immediate and dramatic improvements in the skins’ clarity, hydration, and health, and reduce pore size and superficial texture & tone irregularities. Perhaps most appealing is that the process is immensely pleasant and relaxing.
Chemical Peels
A peel is often employed in a facial. It utilizes acids to produce a more substantive exfoliation. River Med Saa offers chemical peels for all skin types, utilizing TCA, salicylic acid, thioctic acid, or Jessner's solution.
Fillers
Dermal fillers — and there are many — are variations of a naturally occurring substance called Hyaluronic Acid (HA). HA is found in your skin, joints, and connective tissues. With increasing age, we lose our natural HA. The injectable HA’s, just as naturally occurring HA’s, demonstrate differences in firmness, elasticity, and viscosity. This provides the ability to provide firm cheek, jawline, or chin augmentation or soft lip and under-eye fillers…and everything in between. Our facial structures demonstrate aging in several ways. Most prominently, temporal hollows develop, and gravity pulls our facial skin downward. There are several factors for this aging process, some avoidable, some manageable, and some beyond our control. Aging is itself associated with atrophy of the facial bones, adipose, and muscle. Repeated muscle movements — expressions — will cause lines & depressions to form (this can be managed with neurotoxins). Environmental insults, like UV light and tobacco smoke, damage & deplete elastin which also contributes to facial atrophy and wrinkles (this can be avoided). With dermal fillers we can restore volume to the face in areas that may have atrophied and even lift facial structures upward, fighting the effects of gravity.
IV Therapy
Intravenous therapy is the most commonly used invasive medical therapy; it is also the most commonly used intervention in emergency departments — to make patients feel better. IV infusion therapy can deliver fluids, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, anti-oxidants, fatty acids, nucleotide coenzymes, and medications — far more effectively than than oral consumption. Kybella
Kybella is deoxycholic acid (DA), which is found naturally in our intestines where it causes the breakdown of dietary lipids. DA acts as a detergent to degrade adipose cells when used cosmetically. Kybella provides such an injectable form of deoxycholic acid which allows for directed mesotherapy, particularly beneath the chin and around the jawline to enhance these facial contours. The adipose reduction with Kybella is extremely effective. Indeed, FDA clinical trials demonstrated that patients who gained weight after treatment did not see their adipose deposits return in the treated area. Kybella is approved for adults with very few exclusion criteria.
PRP
The supernatant of centrifuged blood is plasma, rich in platelets; the gold-colored supernatant is hence, ‘platelet-rich plasma (PRP)’. Often blood is double-spun (centrifuged twice) to achieve a concentration of platelets six times greater than occurs physiologically — or about 1M/ml plasma. Platelets naturally contain growth factors which — in nature — allows injured tissues to grow new tissue and heal. Introducing concentrated platelet growth factors has been shown to have beneficial effects on the skin and other organs and tissues.
RF Microneedling
Radio Frequency (RF) Microneedling is a treatment that punctures and rapidly heats the underlying dermis to ~67°C (153 °F). This particular method of microinjury produces an improvement in the tissue stroma by enhancing skin collagen, elastin and HA production histologically. Visually, dramatic improvement in skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, and tone smoothing is routinely achieved with 1-3 treatments. Perhaps one of the most appreciated benefits of Microneedling is scar reduction, and this is an excellent treatment for any type of scar, including acne scars.

Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) induces vigorous muscle contraction using electric impulses. EMS can be utilized as a strength training tool, as a rehabilitation tool for in the setting of muscle weakness or atrophy, or as a contouring tool to enhance muscle development and shaping.
