ICFs are specifically designed to be insulated on both sides, making it easy to quickly snap pieces together without worrying about whether you’re installing it upside down or backwards. If you do want to change the configuration later, these ICFs are completely reversible, giving builders the freedom to experiment and alter plans as needed. We use pre-assembled ICF blocks composed of expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam and connected by high-density plastic webs. The foam blocks are stacked together to form hollow walls in which steel rebar is placed and concrete is poured. ICF walls are essentially steel-reinforced, solid concrete walls that are insulated on both sides. ICFs build incredibly strong and energy-efficient walls that outperform traditional wood-frame walls by over 55% on average.
